From February 26th to March 1st, 2026, the construction area will be presented for the first time in the 9,200 m² hall - with a clear structure, innovative theme worlds and a supporting program that will equally delight trade visitors, decision-makers as well as private builders and renovators.

With the completion of Hall 22, Messe Wels is creating new standards and becoming the most modern trade fair location in Austria. The energy saving trade fair will be the first event to use the new hall from February 26th to March 1st, 2026. Here the construction area finds a new home on 9,200m² in a forward-looking environment. "We are creating a place where innovation becomes visible. Anyone who exhibits in Wels will be seen," emphasizes trade fair managing director Mag. Robert Schneider. The hall meets the highest sustainability standards (lowest energy, district heating, groundwater cooling) and is a real technological miracle thanks to 1.7 km of media channels and flexible infrastructure.
Construction area with strong themes
In 2026, the focus will be on topics such as smart building, smart living, sustainable renovation and modern interiors. The construction conference on February 26, 2026 is aimed at architects, planners, craftsmen and builders. The “Trendpodium Construction” invites you to expert talks, market trends and panel discussions. The “Sustainable Construction Industry” event provides valuable inspiration for the industry with best practice examples for sustainable construction and real estate, a panel discussion and a guided innovation trade fair tour. In the evening, the “Long Night of Construction” invites you to exchange ideas, network and entertain.“With this mix of information and event, we want to make the trade fair a new experience – technically relevant and inspiring at the same time,” explains project manager Mag. Erich Haudum.Trade fair manager Petra Leingartner emphasizes: “The new Hall 22 is more than just space – it is the stage and the most important trade fair in Austria for the building trade.” At the same time as the energy saving trade fair, electromobility will be presented in all its diversity in its own trade fair area from February 25th to March 1st, 2026. The new highlight for everyone who wants to promote sustainable mobility and innovative energy solutions.
