Light + Building 2026: trade fair in an international light

Light + Building will take place in Frankfurt am Main from March 8th to 13th, 2026. According to the organizer, around 2,000 companies have confirmed their participation - including numerous market leaders and specialized providers from home and abroad. According to the organizers, the international share is around 70 percent.

Confirmed exhibitors include Signify, Osram, Trilux, Zumtobel, ABB, Siemens, Hager, Gira and Phoenix Contact. Both providers from the lighting sector and building technology are represented.

From digitalization to sustainability

The focus of the trade fair is on topics such as energy efficiency, digitalization and sustainability. The motto "Be Electrified - Electrifying Places. Illuminating Spaces." refers to the combination of intelligent energy infrastructure with sophisticated lighting design. The three top topics “Sustainable Transformation”, “Smart Connectivity” and “Living Light” address key developments in the industry.

The product areas of the trade fair cover a wide spectrum: from technical and decorative lighting to building technology and digital control systems. The hall occupancy ranges from lighting technology in halls 3 to 6 to the Asia Selection in hall 10 to building technology in halls 8 to 12.

Supporting programwith design,Practiceand exchange

In addition to the trade fair events, the supporting program offers lectures, award ceremonies and forums. These include the Design Plaza with the Designplus Awards, the first-ever IALD International Lighting Design Awards as well as practical formats such as the workshop street for the electrical trade. The Architects' Day, the ZVEI Technology Forum and the ZVEH E-House are also part of the fixed program items.
