Nemetschek takes over Firmus
Bluebeam, a subsidiary of the Nemetschek Group, has signed an agreement to acquire the US company Firmus AI (Firmus). The Nemetschek Group is a global provider of software for the construction and media industries. Firmus is considered a pioneer in the field of design review and risk analysis of construction projects before construction begins. The company relies on artificial intelligence to analyze 2D PDF plans for risks from the planning phase - “and thereby transforms processes in the construction industry,” according to the Nemetschek Group. “The fast-growing company is revolutionizing the $13 trillion construction industry with its leading cloud AI platform.”
More efficiency in processes
The aim of the acquisition is to integrate Firmus' AI functions specializing in drawings - from early risk identification and interdisciplinary coordination to the comparison of plan versions and priority-based problem reporting - directly into Bluebeam's review and markup workflows. The aim is to increase the efficiency and precision of construction processes.
“The acquisition of Firmus AI with its revolutionary technology underlines our global leadership in AI-based innovations in the AEC/O industry while strengthening our AI-first strategy,” said Yves Padrines, CEO of the Nemetschek Group. "Bluebeam's solutions are already the industry standard for construction collaboration in North America, while continuing to significantly expand our presence in the EMEA and APAC regions. By combining the unique strengths of Bluebeam and Firmus, we can significantly accelerate our AI roadmap, create additional value for our customers and leverage synergies that will further drive our growth."
