A celebration of education
This year's HTBLA Hallstatt art and furniture gala in the Hallstatt Culture and Congress Center was held under the motto “100 Years of Master Classes”.

A celebration of education
As part of the annual art and furniture gala HTBLA Hallstatt This year, for the 21st time, outstanding theses from recent years were honored. Of the 38 nominated works, nine received the coveted “Felix” trophy, a bronze, winged figure that represents special achievements in design and craftsmanship.
New technical school branch
Director Christoph Preimesberger opened the gala with a pleasant announcement: From the 2026/27 school year there will also be a technical school branch for boat building. Afterwards, 5th year students, Hannah Moser and Sarah Mühleder, confidently and charmingly led through the varied evening program. The musical performances by the company band under the direction of Magret Haase-Jablonsky underlined the festive setting.
Cinematic scenes
The videos produced by the students themselves, in which they presented their nominated works, offered the viewers a real firework of ideas: on the large video screen, students sailed across Lake Hallstatt in specially made boats, self-made musical instruments sounded, finely crafted pieces of furniture were brought to life in elegant close-ups, doors opened effortlessly, and a wide variety of reflections were reflected Surfaces, newly planned buildings were walked on - and with Icarus we went all the way to the sun. What was presented made it clear to the audience how committed the teachers and students were to their work, and demonstrated the diversity and uniqueness of this school location.
Anniversary in focus
The focus of the gala was the big anniversary of the master class. An impressive journey through time, designed with historical moments, photographs and works from past generations, made the school's development visible. Numerous models documented the creative productivity that has characterized this traditional school location for a century. The presentation of the final theses nominated for the Felix spanned the present day and highlighted the high quality of the disciplines on offer: carpentry and production technology, wood and stone sculpture, string and string instrument production, and wood turning with a focus on CNC and rotation technology.
Open days
On October 10th and 11th, the HTBLA Hallstatt will open its doors and cordially invites anyone interested to explore the theory rooms and workshops and gain exciting insights into the lessons. The program is rounded off by guided tours in which students learn about the various areas of training.
