Excellent services

From September 9th to 13th, 2025, as part of the Euroskills In Herning, Denmark, around 600 young professionals from 32 countries in 38 professions came to the start to compete against each other over three days of competition. Red-White-Red is sending the largest contingent of young skilled workers with 44 participants - graduates of an apprenticeship or vocational school under the age of 25, no apprentices - including two young carpenters: furniture carpenter Udo Gnadenberger from Lower Austria, employed at the Grünzweig carpentry shop, and building carpenter Thomas Leitner from Styria. The Murtaler, who works at MT-Design Tischlerei in Zeltweg, had another chance to show his skills this year after having to withdraw from the World Championships last year due to injury.

International class

In front of more than 15,000 fans in the Jyske Bank Boxen, Team Austria celebrated a total of twelve medals: six gold, three silver and three bronze. Upper Austrian refrigeration and air conditioning technician is “Best of Nation”, Styrian is the first European automotive technology champion and thus achieved third place in the national ranking.

The international class and breadth of the Austrian national team can also be seen by looking at the “Medallions for Excellence”, which are awarded for outstanding achievements after the podium places - Austria won 17 of them. In addition to numerous valuable experiences and new contacts, Udo Gnadenberger and Thomas Leitner were also able to take home such a trophy. This means that the two join the long list of successful carpenters in competitions.

engine of the economy

Shortly after landing in Vienna, the 44 participants entered the Austrian Economic Chamber (WKÖ) for an official reception and were duly celebrated for their sensational performance. "Your achievements are impressive and at the same time crucial for Austria's future. What you showed at Euroskills shows how strong our dual training system is," said Andreas Herz, Vice President of the WKÖ. “It doesn’t work without highly trained specialists like you – you are the engine that drives our economy.”
